a set of renders for architecture firm Büro Ole Scheeren's winning Scenic City proposal for JD.com’s new headquarters.
A former classmate who was on the project reached out looking for renders to match existing company standards for thumbnail use as the firm prepared to submit its proposal as part of a design competition for the project.
BOS has a very specific design language for thumbnails, as seen on their website, shown to the left. I received a model from Rhino 3d, and brought it into Cinema 4D to render using their sketch and toon shader.
The final render for this project, on the top row, second column of their current website, was done after the project was complete with final alterations and is not done by me.
Most of the progression of the renders was around finding the correct proportion of black and white to define the shape without losing detail
